Congress to introduce new faces in the coming Karnataka Assembly Election 2018

AICC general secretary and the state in-charge of the Karnataka Congress unit KC Venugopal on Saturday, announced that the Congress will introduce news faces in Karnataka for the next assembly polls which will be fought on development agenda.

Speaking to reporters at Udapi after visiting Sri Krishna Mutt along with KPCC president G Parmaeshwara, he said that two leaders had come to seek blessings from the Swamiji. When asked about possibility of cabinet reshuffle ahead of polls he said that it’s dependent upon Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He also said that during four years, Siddaramaiah led Congress government had provided good governance and implemented pro-people programs.

During press meet, he also made allegations on BJP that the opposition is trying to polarize votes by creating communal disturbance in certain areas. Recently, Vishewshateertha Swamiji had drawn criticism from Hindu outfit for organizing a “harmony feast” for Muslims during Ramzan in the ancient Krishna temple complex at Udapi on June 23.

Commending the Iftar get together held by Swamiji, Venugopal said the seer had given a good message to the people. He mentioned that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had hosted the Iftar get- together during his tenure, but still Narendra Modi had not yet hosted any such meet.
